5 mistakes to avoid with your logo
Too many details, haphazard colours, a logo that's unreadable at small sizes… The most common pitfalls and how to avoid them.
Your logo is everywhere: signage, social media, invoices, packaging. All the more reason to avoid the mistakes that work against it.
1. Too many details
A logo has to stay legible at every size, from the favicon to the poster. Simplicity is an asset, not a shortcut.
2. Following a trend
Trends fade. A good logo aims for timelessness so you don't have to redo it in two years.
3. Neglecting variations
Colour version, black and white, on a dark background… Without variations, your logo will quickly run out of options.
4. Choosing colours at random
Colours carry a message. They should serve your positioning, not just "look nice."
5. Forgetting the source files
Always keep the vector files: they're what guarantee perfect quality, everywhere. (Sample article — to be expanded.)
